"Creativity is an exciting process. To observe it, recognise it, experience it are some of the most satisfying aspects of the human condition." (Russ, W. 1993)
Specialising in circus skills and visual arts I facilitate workshops with all ages. Through a hands on and flexible approach to these exciting creative activities I provide opportunities for self expression, development of self-esteem and learning through play.
My approach to working is based around the Creative Expressive Model, (Jennings, 1992), providing a safe and non-judgemental environment. This way of working enables and enhances discovery of creative potential, expanding awareness and stimulating the imagination. Through working in groups, confidence and articulation are encouraged, along with the development of negotiation and co-operation skills.
Workshops can be tailored to fit individual needs, whether it be a messy play workshop in a school, or a team building Circus Skills day for staff.
The services I provide for children and young people are all in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage and National Curriculum, but are focussed around having fun and allowing children to be children, with more emphasis on the creative process than the final product.
I am a practising artist and currently studying at the University of Derby, in my final year of the BA Hons Degree in Creative Expressive Therapies.
I have an Enhanced Disclosure and am fully insured. I work in schools, playschemes, scout/guide groups, youth clubs, at corporate events, team building days, children's parties and many more. Whatever your needs, contact me now.
